“It’s complicated to rank higher in Google”
This is what many SEO pros and agencies will have you believe. In fact…
Right now in 2023, you don’t have to understand algorithms or be a techie, to know how to rank a website in Google.
The truth is, it’s actually pretty easy to figure out.
Here’s three important things, that you need to know, to get your website ranking in Google RIGHT NOW in 2023.
1. A Fast Technically Sound Website
First thing, that you need to do, is build a fast, technically sound website.
There’s guidelines, provided by Google, that tell you how to build your website correctly. Now, it can get little bit technical at times, but try looking things up on YouTube to figure them out.
2. Content Is STILL King
The second thing is Content.
Content. Is. King.
You MUST populate your website with pages and content that are focussed around keywords that your customers are searching for. There’s an abundance of tools out there that literally tell you what keywords people are searching for AND how many times per month people are actually searching for them.
The tools help you optimise your content around your target keywords searches. Now, the essential thing here is not stuffing those keywords onto a page, that’s spammy. It’s about building relevant, insightful, helpful, content around those keywords.
3. Link Building
The third thing, that you need to do, is show Google just how “popular” your website is.
How do we do this?
By getting other websites to link back to yours.
Let’s say, you have a clothing website that sells shirts.
If Esquire or GQ or other similar websites, publish an article, about “the top 10 printed shirts for summer” as an example and that article includes a link back to your website, that sends a MASSIVE signal to Google, that your website is relevant to searchers looking for shirts and is a popular site, because it’s featured on a very authoritative websites.
A quick recap…
Three things to concentrate on…
- A technically sound website.
- Great content with relevant keywords.
- Backlinks to tell Google that your site is popular.
And that’s really all there is to it.
Google is far too powerful a traffic source for you to ignore because you think SEO is too daunting.
